How to choose an implementation partner in India

The software matters less than the team that sets it up. A good partner understands your process, configures the product to fit it, moves your data safely and trains your people. A poor one leaves you with an expensive tool nobody uses. Use these steps to shortlist two to four companies and choose with confidence.

1. Write down the problem first

Before you contact anyone, write two or three sentences on what is broken today: slow quotations, stock mismatches, no single customer record, month-end taking too long. Partners can only scope well when the problem is clear.

2. Pick the technology or ask for a recommendation

If you already use Zoho, Odoo, Salesforce, SAP or Microsoft Dynamics, filter for partners who work on it. If you are undecided, choose partners who work on more than one product so the advice is not tied to a single vendor.

3. Check these things on every shortlisted company

  • Products and services it lists, and whether they match your need
  • Industries it has worked in, ideally yours
  • Published case studies and reviews, not only claims on its own site
  • Location and whether it can support you in your time zone and language
  • A SARVO Verified badge, which is given only after an admin reviews the company

4. Ask for the same things from each partner

  • A written scope with phases and deliverables
  • Who will actually run your project, and their experience
  • How data migration, testing and training are handled
  • What support looks like after go-live and how it is charged
  • Two references you can call

5. Compare side by side

Put the answers in one table. Price matters, but so do scope clarity, team seniority and support terms. The cheapest quote often leaves things out that appear later as extra charges.

6. Start small if you are unsure

A paid discovery phase or a first module lets you see how the team works before you commit to the whole programme.

Frequently asked questions

How many partners should I speak to?

Two to four is enough. More than that slows the decision without improving it.

Should I choose the local partner or the biggest one?

Choose the one that has done similar work for businesses like yours and can support you well. Size and location are secondary to fit.

How can SARVO help?

Filter the directory by technology, service, industry and city, compare companies side by side, and send your requirement to the ones that fit.
